Jinju, also called zhonglu bangzi, refers to one of the four different genres in the big bangzi family in Shanxi province. It evolved from puju (puzhou bangzi) and became popular around the mid-19th century. It is well received in the middle region of Shanxi province and in areas of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Shaanxi and Hebei provinces.
